The Elliott Review:

As a Christian, I've always been aware that it's our duty to protect the beautiful gifts that we have been given in nature, and this was brought home to me very poignantly when seeing firsthand the damage done by the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. That incident made me more firmly resolve to do whatever I could to take a more active part in being a wise steward of the earth's resources. In the Christian community in particular, I believe that there is not much encouragement for individuals to act responsibly in this way. That's why I was so excited to review this children's book that has such an important message in such a simple format.

With beautiful illustrations focusing on a brother and sister and their day-to-day experiences, Care For Creation pinpoints the many things that we can do to take care of the earth and also gives Bible verses to back up each concept/action. Seeing these paired together was a powerful mixture. The factual nature of the text is something that would interesting for young readers, and the illustrations alone are enough to keep a  younger child's attention, while being read to by a parent. The book can encourage interesting discussions that will help both parent and child to learn more about the small steps that can be taken. This could even be a good resource for an upper elementary Sunday school class discussing creation.
